EMP MALAYSIA PROJECTS AND ENGINEERING DIVISION CLINCHES SKIM BLOCK RUBBER PROJECT

EMP MALAYSIA has received a 1mt/hour Skim Block processing system from their Thai client. The skim block dryer is to be heated by steam generated from a steam boiler powered by biogas.

The biogas is generated from oil palm sludge which is being treated using anaerobic treatment system. Methane is produced, scrubbed before it is burnt in a gas boiler or gas engine.

By using steam heating, their drying cost is virtually free as the whole palm oil mill and skim block factory is energy self sufficient.

In 1992, our Managing Director designed a dual fuel crumb rubber that uses firewood indirect heating system as its main source of heating while a diesel burner was used as back up. This plant was located in Malawi, Central Africa.
